This summer, at our Bethlehem, PA, and East Brunswick, NJ locations, campers will have the unique opportunity to explore how electricity flows—just like in real circuits—using mechanical components they can see, touch, and manipulate.
What is Spintronics?
Spintronics is an interactive learning system designed by Upper Story, the creators of Turing Tumble and other engaging STEM-based educational tools. Unlike traditional circuit kits that use wires and batteries, Spintronics circuits are mechanical. Instead of electrons flowing through wires, Spintronics uses spinning gears and chains to simulate electrical current.
By assembling different components—such as resistors, switches, and capacitors—students can build working circuits that behave just like their electrical counterparts. This hands-on, mechanical approach helps learners visualize electrical principles in a tangible, intuitive way, making complex concepts more engaging and easier to understand.
